Selecting visit package for creating a work order
In this page, you can select a visit package to create a work order. Tell me more.
Select the “Create Work Order” link under the “Hangar Work Order” business component.
The “Select Visit Package” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the visit package. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Adv. Search ID |
Use the drop-down list box to select the search ID. The system lists all the values as identified for the login user in the login organization unit. The system retrieves the visit package based on the filter criteria specified for the search ID. Leave this field blank to search irrespective of this field. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Select the “Edit" link alongside, to modify the advanced search criteria.
Visit Package # |
The number identifying the visit package for which you need to raise a work order (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the visit packages that are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank, to search for all the visit packages, which are in the “Released” or “Partially Released” status. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the visit packages associated with the aircraft specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of the aircraft to which they are attached. |
Primary Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the place of maintenance execution to which the visit package is associated. The system lists all the work centers that are associated with the login organization unit which are in “Active” status. |
The system retrieves all the visit packages associated with the primary work center specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of the primary work centers to which the visit packages are associated. | |
Visit Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category to which the visit package belongs. For eg: ‘A' check. The system lists all the visit categories, which are defined in the “Create Visit Category” activity of the current business component and which are in the “Active” status. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of the category to which the visit package belongs. |
Grounding : Date From |
The starting date, in a range of grounding dates of the aircraft, from which you need to retrieve the visit packages (Date Format). The system retrieves all the visit packages for which the grounding date is greater than or equal to the date entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of their grounding date. |
Grounding : Date To |
The ending date, in a range of grounding dates of the aircraft, till which you need to retrieve the visit packages (Date Format). The system retrieves all the visit packages for which the grounding date is lesser than or equal to the date entered here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of their grounding date. |
Note: If both the date fields are entered, the ending grounding date should be greater than the starting grounding date.
Note: Leave all the fields blank, to retrieve all the visit packages in the "Revised", “Released” or “Partly Released” status.
The system retrieves only those visit packages for which there exists work orders with status other than “Fresh”.
Enter the following
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer who owns the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of the customer number entered here. The system retrieves only those visit packages raised on the aircraft whose owning agency number matches with the customer number entered here. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the visit packages irrespective of the customer name entered here. The system retrieves only those visit packages raised on the aircraft whose owning agency name matches with the customer name entered here. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to search for the visit packages.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:
Visit Package # |
The visit package retrieved by the system. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft on which the visit package is created. |
Primary Work Center # |
The work center where the maintenance activity, listed in the visit package, is executed. |
Status |
The status of the visit package, which could be “Released” or “Partially Released”. |
Visit Category |
The category to which the visit package belongs. |
Grounding Date |
The date on which the aircraft is grounded for executing the visit package. |
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft. |
Note: The "Customer #" and "Customer Name" fields are applicable only when the aircraft is not self-owned and the customer details are recorded in the system.
Select the hyperlinked visit package number for which a work order must be created.

Selecting visit package for creating a work order – An overview
In this page, you can select a visit package to create a work order. You can carry out a search based on the visit package number, aircraft for which the visit package is created, primary work center where the visit package is executed, category of the visit package and a range of grounding dates of the aircraft.
The system retrieves the visit packages that are in the “Released” or “Partly Released” status.
“Release Visit Package“ activity under “Visit Package“ business component. The visit package must be in “Released” or “Partially Released” status.
