Selecting tasks for splitting a work order
This page helps you to select tasks for splitting a work order. Tell me more.
Select the “Split Work Order” link in the “Select Work Order” page.
The “Select Task” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” group box:
Work Order # |
The work order selected in the previous page, which you wish to split. |
Work Order Description |
The textual description of the work order. Zoom facility available. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft on which the visit package is created. |
Visit Package # |
The visit package for which the work order is raised. |
Work Center # |
The work center where the work order is executed. |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the work order. |
Job Type |
The type of the job, which could be “Aircraft”, “Component Removal” or “On-Wing”. |
Job Status |
The job status of the work order, which could be “Fresh”, “Scheduled”, “Pre-closed”, “Completed”, “Inprogress” or “Closed”. |
Note: You cannot move the tasks from a work order, which is in the “Completed”, “Cancelled”, “Preclosed”, or “Closed” status.
The system displays the following in the “Task Details” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence in which the tasks should be performed while executing the work order. |
Task # |
The number identifying the task that must be performed for work order execution. |
Revision # |
The latest revision number of the task, which is in the “active” status. |
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. |
Job Status |
The status of the task, which could be “Fresh”, “Authorized”, ‘Scheduled” or “Inprogress”. |
Task Category |
The category of the task. For access panel tasks, the system appends the string “Access Panel Task”, in this column. |
Task Priority |
The urgency level for the execution of the task. |
Time Unit |
The unit of measurement for the time allotted for the task, which could be “Minutes”, “Hours” and “Days”. |
Est. Elapsed Time |
The time estimated to complete the task. |
Est. Man Hrs |
The total man-hours estimated to complete the task. |
Sch. Start Date |
The date on which the maintenance task is planned to be started. |
Start Time |
The time at which the maintenance task is planned to be started. |
Sch. End Date |
The date on which the maintenance task is planned to be completed. |
End Time |
The time at which the maintenance task is planned to be completed. |
Compliance Date |
The latest date by which the task must be completed. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter under which the component is listed. |
AMM / CMM Item # |
The Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) or the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) item number given in the respective manuals. |
DSC # |
The number that identifies the dependent system condition. |
Access Panel # |
The number identifying the access panel task. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the tasks that you wish to move into a separate work order.
Note: You cannot move the selected tasks from a work order for which a material request already exists in “Fresh” or “Authorized” status.
Note: Ensure that the selected Task # and Sequence # of the “Hangar Work Order” have not been referred as Ref. Task # , Ref. Task Sequence # and Ref. Doc # in a purchase order type of ''Adhoc PO' or 'Service PO'. If it has been referred, the task cannot be split in the work order.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Move to Work Order” link at the bottom of the page to move the selected tasks to a separate work order.

Selecting tasks for splitting a work order – An overview
This page helps you to select tasks for splitting a work order. On launching this page, the system lists all the tasks associated with the work order selected in the “Select Work Order” page. You can select the tasks that you wish to move to another work order.
When you cannot split the work order
You cannot move tasks to split the work order, in the following cases:
If the status of the selected task is “Cancelled”, “Completed”, Preclosed” or “Closed”
If the transient status of the task is “Deferred”, “Pending Deferral” or “Hold”
If a material request is raised against the task in the parent work order
