Editing part / service group details
This page allows you to edit the details of the part / service group.
Select the “Edit Part / Service Group” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Edit Part / Service Group” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this screen. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part / service group code. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Group Code |
The code identifying the part / service group (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part / service group code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all part / service group codes that are similar to the number entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the part / service groups irrespective of the group code entered. |

Group Description |
The description of the part / service group (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part / service groups whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the part / service groups irrespective of the description entered. |

Controlled Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the part / service group you want to modify is controlled or not. Select “Yes” for controlled part / service groups and “No” if the part / service group you want is not controlled. |

Purpose |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the purpose of the part / service group you want to modify. The system displays the following values: "Pricing", "Taxes and Charges", "Product Line", "Capability Definition", "VAT", "Reliability Analysis", "Contract Part Effectivity", "HSN Code", "Pool Effectivity", "SAC Code", "Material Burden", "Asset Proposal", "Material Planning" and "Inventory Planning". Note: You cannot modify this field, if it has been already specified as HSN Code or SAC Code. Further, the following field value combinations are valid for selection.

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the part / service group. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Leave the field blank to retrieve the part / service groups irrespective of the status. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system retrieves the following in the “Part / Service Group Details” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.
Group Code |
The code identifying the part / service group defined in the system. |
The system displays the values defined previously in the following fields, which you can modify.
Group Description |
The description of the part / service group (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
Associate Attributes |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the attributes must be associated to the part / service group. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. |
Associate Parts |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the parts must be associated to the part / service group. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. |
Associate Services |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the parts must be associated to the service group. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. |
Note: You can select ‘Yes’ in any one of the two columns: Associate Parts or Associate Services not both. |

Controlled? |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the part / service group must be controlled or not. Select “Yes” for controlled part / service groups and “No” if the part / service group you want is not controlled. |
Purpose |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the purpose of the part / service group. The system displays the following values: "Pricing", "Taxes and Charges", "Product Line", "Capability Definition", "VAT", "Reliability Analysis", "HSN Code", "Contract Part Effectivity, Pool Effectivity, Material Burden, Asset Proposal, Material Planning, Inventory Planning" and "SAC Code". |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the part. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. |
Note: The Controlled? and Purpose attributes bear implications when you associate a part to a part / service group If a part is associated to a Controlled Part / Service Group with a specific purpose, then it cannot be associated to another “Controlled” part / service group with the same purpose. However it can be associated to any other “non-controlled” Part / Service Group with different / same purpose
The system displays the following fields:

The name of the user who created the part / service group |
Created Date |
The date on which the part / service group is created |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the part / service group details |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the part / service group details were last modified |
Check the box in the multiline to select the part / service group for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the part / service group.
Click the “Edit Part / Service Group” pushbutton to edit the part / service group details.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Associate Attributes” link at the bottom of the page to modify the attribute details associated to the part / service group.
Select the “Associate Parts” link at the bottom of the page to modify the part details associated to the part / service group.
Select the “Associate Usages” link at the bottom of the page to associate usages with the part /service group.
