Defining intermixing rule for model configuration
This page allows you to update the intermixing rule details defined for model configuration Tell me more
Select the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules” link at the bottom of the “Edit Position Attributes” page.
The “Edit Part Intermixing Rules” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Model Configuration Details” group box:
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model for which the intermixing rule details must be defined. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the model configuration. |
Ref. Configuration Class |
The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated. |
Level Code |
The level code of the reference part number. |
Ref. Position Code |
The position code selected in the main screen, for which the dependent position codes must be entered. |
Enter the following field:
Reference Part # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part associated to the position code, for which the dependent position codes must be entered. The system lists all the position-based part numbers defined for the model configuration and interchangeable part numbers defined in the “Part Administration” business component. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the details of the intermixing part details that are already entered for the selected reference part number.
Note: The system lists the dependent position codes and the dependent part numbers that are already defined for the reference position code and reference part number, in the multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Intermixing Rules” multiline:
Dependent Position Code |
The position code that is dependent on the reference position code and the reference part number (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is a valid position code that is already defined for the part in the model configuration, and is in “Active” status. |
Dependent Part # |
The part number that must be fitted in the dependent position code, when the reference part number is fitted in the reference position code (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the part number has already been defined in the “ Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and is in “Active” status. Also, the part number must have already been associated to the dependent position code in the model configuration. |

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the intermixing rule is reversible or not. The system provides the following options: |

Remarks |
Any remarks regarding the configuration. When a remark is entered, then the position code is mandatory. |
The system displays the following field on clicking the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules” pushbutton:
Level Code |
The level at which the dependent position code and part number occurs in the model configuration hierarchy. |
Note: Ensure that at least one interchangeable part is entered in the multiline. The part number must be unique within the multiline.The system generates a unique id for each record against the remarks. The remarks added are displayed in the “View Notes Information” page.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline if you wish to mark the dependent position code for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the dependent position codes selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules” pushbutton to update the intermixing rule details.
Note: If the dependent position code identified here occurs once or if it occurs more than one level in the model configuration, the system displays the position code details along with the level number. You can also delete the level, for which you do not wish to include the position code has the dependent position code for the reference position code.
If the new intermixing rules are added to or deleted for the Reference Part # - Position code combination, the system copies the new rules or deletes the intermixing rules to / from the corresponding Reference Part # - Position Code - Level Code - Configuration Class - Model combination in the Aircraft Configuration.
If the intermixing rule attribute ‘Reversible’ is modified for the existing records, the system updates the modified values to the corresponding Reference Part # - Position Code - Level Code - Configuration Class - Model combination.
Note: The addition / deletion / modification mentioned above happen only if the Model Configuration is in “Active” status and if the “Inherit Changes to Aircraft” box is checked for the Revision # in the “Build Model Configuration” page of the current business component.
Note: Attribute modifications are inherited only to the Aircraft Reg #s which are in “Active” and “Under Creation” statuses and to the Aircraft configuration which is in “Active” and “Fresh” statuses.
Defining intermixing rule for model configuration – An overview
The intermixing rule defines the list of dependent position codes and the dependent part numbers for the reference position code and the reference part number. The rule depicts the dependencies that exist among the various position codes in a model, with respect to the part numbers that can be fitted in them. In other words, the intermixing rule states that, whenever the reference part number is fitted in the reference position code, the dependent position codes must have the associated dependent part numbers fitted in them.
In this page, you can select the reference part number and enter the dependent position codes and the dependent part numbers for the reference position code and part number, and indicate whether the intermixing rule is reversible or not.
The system updates the intermixing rule and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date. If the dependent position code occurs in more than one level in the model configuration, the system displays the position code details along with the level number. You can also delete the level in which the position code appears if you do not want to include the position code as the dependent position code for the reference position code.
