Using Online Help

This section enables you to record details of parts supplied by the customer based on the part attributes. You can specify the inclusion and exclusion of parts supplied by the customer at both part level as well as part group level. Also you can assign permitted values and ascertain whether alternatives are also covered.

You can use the “Include” radio button to specify the customer-supplied parts that you wish to include at a group level. In the “Parts Exclusion / Inclusion List” multiline you can exclude the few parts that you wish to exclude by selecting the “Include”  or “Exclude” values in the Incl. / Excl. Flag” at part level. Similarly, if you wish to include few parts, you can use the “Exclude” radio button to specify the parts you wish to exclude at a group level, and in the “Parts Exclusion / Inclusion List”  multiline, you can include the few parts you wish to include from the group specified.

Include

Select this radio button if you wish to include parts supplied by the customer based on their attributes at a group level.

Exclude

Select this radio button if you wish to exclude parts supplied by the customer based on their attributes at a group level.

Part Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the part supplied by the customer, which you wish to include / exclude for servicing an object. The system displays all the part types that are already defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component.

Part Classification

Use the drop-down list box to select the classification to which the customer-supplied part belongs. The possible classifications could be Rotable”, “Controllable” or “Repairable”.

Part Group

Use the drop-down list box to select the part group to which the customer-specified part that you wish to include / exclude belongs.

Replacement Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of replacement that the part must undergo. The replacement type could be one of the following

  • “LRU” – Indicates that the part can be replaced in the “Line Replacement Unit”. The part can be replaced in the aircraft itself

  • “SRU” – Indicates that the part can be replaced in the “Shop Replacement Unit”. The part must be taken to the shop for replacement.

LLP

Indicates whether the specified part is a life limited part. You can select from the options “Yes” or “No”.

Incl. / Excl. Flag

Use the drop-down list box to exclude / include a specific part from the customer supplied parts defined in the above multiline. Mandatory. The system lists the following options:

  • Include - Indicates that the part is included from the excluded list of parts specified in the multiline above.

  • Exclude - Indicates that the part is excluded from the included list of parts specified in the multiline above.

Part #

The number identifying the part supplied by the customer, which you wish to include / exclude for servicing an object.

Ensure the following:

  • The number specified in this field is a valid and “active” part number as defined in the “Part Administration” business component.

  • The “Include / Exclude Flag” drop-down list box in the multiline is not set as both Include as well as Exclude for the same Part #.

Mfr. Part #

The number assigned to the part, by the manufacturer of the part. Mandatory.

Ensure that the number specified in this field is a valid manufacturer part number as defined in the “Part Administration” business component.

Mfr. #

The number assigned to the part, by the manufacturer of the part. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the Mfr. Part # specified is similar for more than one internal Part #.

Ensure the following:

  • The number specified in this field is a valid manufacturer number.

  • The Mfr. Part # corresponds to the specified Part # as defined in the “Part Administration” business component.

Note: The Mfr. Part # and the Mfr. # must be a valid combination, corresponding to the Part # as defined in the “Part Administration” business component.

Part Description

A textual description of the part.

Covers Alternatives?

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether alternatives are also covered. You can select from the options, “Yes” or “No”.
