Role of this Activity in life cycle creation

This activity facilitates an authorised user to log into the system.

What the activity comprises

This activity comprises entering 1. User Name and 2. Password.

This activity is available under Security component.
After launching the screen, the user has to enter the user name and password. If user name and password are correct, then next screen will be launched otherwise an error message will be displayed.
Each user is allowed a maximum of "3 failed log on" attempts after which the account is locked and only the Administrator can unlock the account.
Password of each user has a "password expiry period", which depends upon the password policy of the Administrator.
If password of a user is about to get expired, then a warning message will be displayed. If password has expired then the page is redirected to "Change Password" Screen to enable the user to change his password.
If the user account expires, then the account is Disabled. The "Account Expiry Period" is set by the administrator.
If the user account is locked and "Account Lock Out Period" expires, then the account is unlocked and the page is redirected to "Change password" Screen. The user has to change the password to proceed.
If the user account is unlocked by the administrator and the next time user tries to login, then the page is redirected to "Change Password" Screen to enable the user to change his password.

This screen has 2 fields in the header namely ‘User Name’and ’Password’.

User Name	Alphanumeric Field; Length – 12 Characters
Password	Alphanumeric Field; Length – 25 Characters

This activity allows an authorised user to login to the system.
