You can view the effective dates of the various versions of the record in the “Access Data History” group box, if the record has been modified before.
Effective From |
The date from which the corresponding version of the record has been in effect. |
Effective To |
The date till which the corresponding version of the record has been in effect. The effective to value will be blank for the current version of the record. |
Select the “Previous” and “Next” pushbuttons to view the previous and next set of values of the effective dates.
Enter the following details.
Position Title |
The title of the position applicable to the selected position control ID. |
Position Description |
The description of the position applicable to the selected position control ID. |
Department Code |
The unique code of the department to which the positions applicable to the selected position control ID belongs. This field is help-enabled. |
Inactive |
Select this check box if you want to make the details of the selected position control ID inactive and not available for use in other activities. |
Use the “Default Position Control Id Attributes” to specify the code of the position Id whose details you want to default to the selected position control Id.
Position Id |
The unique code of the position Id whose details you want to apply to the selected position control ID, by default. |
Select the “Default Position Attributes” pushbutton. The system applies by default, the details of the specified position Id to the selected position control Id.
You can view the default details in the corresponding fields in the “Organizational Attributes”, “Employment Attributes” and “Job Attributes”, “Job Profile Details” group boxes.

Regulatory Region |
The regulatory region applicable for the employment unit of the selected position control ID. The system displays the specified value in the drop - down list box. Select the required value to edit. |
Employment Unit |
The employment unit of the selected position control ID. The system displays the specified value in the drop - down list box. Select the required value to edit. |
Work Location |
The name of the place where the employment unit is located, for example, Los Angeles, Chicago etc. The system displays the specified value in the drop - down list box. To edit, select the required value. |
Company |
The system displays the name of the company corresponding to the values specified for the above details. |
Business Unit |
The business unit of the selected position control Id. The system displays the specified value. To edit, select the required value from the drop - down list box.

Reporting To Position |
Enter the unique code of the position to which, the employee holding the position for which you are defining the position control ID, must report to. This field is help-enabled. |
Regular/Temporary |
Indicates whether the position control ID pertains to a regular job or a temporary one. The system displays the specified value. From the drop down list box select the required option, either “Regular” or “Temporary”. Select “Regular” if the job is a regular one and “Temporary” if it is a temporary job. |
FTE |
The full time equivalent value |
Full/Part Time |
From the drop down list box select the required option; either “Full Time” or “Part Time” to specify if the corresponding position control Id pertains to a full time or a part time job. |

Use the fields in the “Job Attributes” cluster box to edit the employment attributes of the selected position control ID. The system displays the specified values. Make the necessary changes.
Job Code |
The unique code of the job for which the position control ID being edited has been generated. This field is help-enabled. |
Select the “Get Job Details” pushbutton. The system displays in the fields below, the values for the “Job Description”, “Job Level”, “Job Family”, “EEO Class” and “Job Classification” details applicable for the specified job code.
Grade Set |
Jobs are classified into different grade sets for different purposes. A grade set is a means of classification by which different people in the company are grouped together, according to their responsibilities, perquisites, facilities, etc. Examples of grade sets are Trainees, Supervisors, Executives and Clerical Staff. |

The need for multiple grade sets arises due to the following reasons: |

An organization may choose to grant different privileges for employees based on the grade set to which they belong. |

An organization may define the pay scale structure based on the grade set of the employee. |

The hierarchy in an organization is easily understood when the employees are classified into different grade sets. Grade sets enable smooth and efficient structuring of the organization. |

Specify the required grade set, to which you want to attribute the position ID that is defined. For example, supervisors, trainees.Select the required option from the drop down list box. |
Grade |
Grade indicates the hierarchy within a grade set. Specify the grade to which you want to attribute the position that is defined. For example, Grade1, Grade2. Select the required option from the drop-down list box. |
Working Condition |
Indicates if the job involves working in any hazardous condition or otherwise. |
Worker’s Compensation Code |
Worker’s Compensation Code indicates the compensation terms and conditions applicable in the event of an injury, permanent disability or death of an employee while in service. Specify the worker’s compensation code, which you want to associate to the position control ID being edited. This indicates that the compensation terms and conditions corresponding to the specified code will be applicable to the employee holding the position. |
Salaried/Hourly |
Specify whether the compensation for the position is through regular salary or computed on an hourly basis. From the drop-down list box, select the required option, either “Salaried” or “Hourly”. “Salaried” indicates that the employee holding the position will be paid regular salary, “Hourly” indicates that the remuneration for the position being edited would be calculated on the number of hours of work. |
Standard Hours |
The number of working hours that the work involves regularly. For example, the position might require the employee to work for 8 hours a day or 5 hours a day . Specify the number of standard working hours in the field and select the required unit, for example, Per Day or Per Week , from the drop - down list box beside. |
Work Experience |
The number of years of experience required for the job. Enter the number in the field and select the unit, that is, Months, Years etc., from the drop - down list box, beside. |
Medical Check Required |
Select inside the check box to indicate whether a medical check is required for the position. |
Medical Check Requirements |
The medical requirements that an employee holding the job must meet to qualify for the position. |
Tipped |
Select the check box to indicate whether the position pertains to a tipped job. |
Mobile |
Select the check box to indicate if the position involves traveling. |
FLSA |
From the drop-down list box, select the required value, either “Yes” or “No”. |
SIC Code |
The SIC code. |

Select the “Request for Deletion of Latest Record” check box to delete the record.
Specify the modification option either “Correct” or “Update” to modify the record. If you select the “Correct” option, the system modifies the record without any change in the effective date. If you select the “Update” option, you must specify a new effective from date and time. The system closes the existing version of the record with the effective to date as one minute previous to the new “Effective from” value specified. The new record with the modifications will come into effect from the new “Effective from” value.
Modification Option |
