Select the checkbox corresponding to the required position record in the multiline of the “Select Position for Editing” page.
Select the “Edit Position” hyperlink in the “Select Position for Editing” page.
The “Edit Position” page appears.
The system displays the following details at the top of the page.
Unit Structure Setup |

Date Format |
The date format that is applicable to the login user. Tell me More |
Position Code |
The position code specified in the “Select Position for Editing” page. |
The system displays the values for the following position details. You can make the necessary changes.
No. Of Posts |
The required number of posts for the position. |
You can view the effective dates of the various versions of the record in the “Access Data History” group box, if the record has been modified earlier.
Effective From |
The date from which the corresponding version of the record has been in effect. |
Effective To |
The date till which the corresponding version of the record has been in effect. The “Effective to” value will be blank for the current version of the record. |
Select the “Previous” and “Next” pushbuttons to view the previous and next set of values of the effective dates.
Position Title |
The title of the corresponding position. |
Position Description |
The description of the corresponding position. |
Inactive |
Select the check box if you want to make the position details not available for use in other activities. |
Department Code |
The code of the department to which the position pertains to. For example, HR, Finance. This field is help-enabled. |
Job Code |
The code of the job to which the position pertains to. This field is help-enabled. |
Comments |
The system displays the comments entered pertaining to the position details. Make the necessary changes. |
Request for Deletion of Latest Record. |
Select the check box if you want to delete the latest version of the position record. |
Specify the modification option either “Correct” or “Update” to modify the record. If you select the “Correct” option, the system modifies the record without any change in the effective date. If you select the “Update” option, you must specify a new effective from date and time. The system closes the existing version of the record with the effective to date as one minute previous to the new effective from value specified. The new record with the modifications will come into effect from the new effective from value.
Modification Option |
From the drop down list box, select the modification option, either “Correct” or “Update”. |
New Effective From |
The new effective from date value, if the modification option selected is “Update”. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
Select the “Delete” pushbutton to delete the record.
