The “Select Position for Editing” page appears.
The system displays the following details on the top right of the page.

Enter the following.
Unit Structure Setup |
From the drop down list box, select the name of the organization unit in which the unit structure component is deployed. Tell me more |
Position Control On |
From the drop down list box, select “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the position control feature is enabled or disabled for the job applicable to the selected position. If the position control is disabled for the job, the position details you can edit will be the specified department-job combination of the selected position. If the position control is enabled for the job, the system displays all the position details such as, the title, description, number of posts specified for the position, the competencies and qualifications mapped to it and the details of the position IDs generated for the specified number of posts. You can edit any of these details. |
Select the required position record, either through the “Direct Entry” group box or through the “Search Criteria” group box.
Use this method if you know the complete codes of the required position and position control ID.
Enter the position code and the position control ID code in the corresponding fields.
Select the “Edit Position” hyperlink beside.
The “Edit Position” page appears. All details of the selected record are displayed.
Select the “Edit Position Control ID’s Attributes” hyperlink to edit the position control ID details.
The “Edit Position Control ID’s Attributes” page appears.
To edit a position, refer to the topic “Editing a Position”.
Use this method if you know just a few characters of the position and position control ID code. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the position, position control ID codes and other details contain. Search based on wild card characters is also supported. To narrow your search to the closest matching records, you can also enter the search criteria for other details such as, the job title, department description and the position title.
Enter the following fields.
Position Code |
A search parameter for the unique code of the position. For example, if you specify the search parameter as PSN*, the system fetches the position records having the code beginning with PSN, as in PSN005, PSN007. |
Position Control ID |
A search parameter for the unique code of the position control ID. For example, if you specify the search parameter as PC*, the system fetches the position records having the position control ID code beginning with PC, as in PC003, PC005 . |
Department Description |
The description of the department to which the position belongs to, for example, HR, Finance . |
Job Title |
The title of the job to which the position belongs, for example, Marketing Executive, Programmer, Analyst Programmer . |
Position Title |
A specific search parameter for the title of the position that you want to edit. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note:
If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the
records that satisfy this value. If more than one search criteria value
is entered,
the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified
values. If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box
and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records
that are applicable to the selected employee movement unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the position records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Position Code |
The unique code of the position. |
Position Control ID |
The code of the position control ID of the position. |
Position Title |
The title of the position ID. |
Department Code |
The code of the department to which the position belongs. |
Department Description |
The description of the department to which the position belongs. |
Job Code |
The code of the job to which the position is applicable to. |
Job Title |
The title of the job applicable to the position. |
Inactive |
Indicates whether the position ID is active and available for use or otherwise. |
From the multi line, select the required position record, by checking beside the record in the “Select” column.
Select the “Edit Position ” hyperlink to edit the details of the position.
