Select the “Identify Competency Gaps” option from the left pane.
The “Identify Competency Gaps” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. |
Enter the following.
Training Plan Unit |
The name of the organization unit in which the training plan and budget components are deployed. If there is more than one value, the system will display “Select” as the default value in the drop-down list box. You can select the required training calendar unit from the drop-down list box. |
Employment Unit |
Select the organization unit that interacts with the Training Plan and budget component to access the competency information. This organization unit must hold the Employment Information component |
Enter the following in the Gap Criteria Group Box.
Note: In the search criteria, enter the fields for which you want to do competency analysis.
Gap Criteria Code |
A unique code to define the gap criteria applicable for the competency. |
Gap Criteria Description |
A brief and unique description of the gap criteria. |
Gap as on Date |
The date on which, the gap criteria is valid. |
Employee Code |
A unique code to define the employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Assignment No |
The number assigned to the employee assignment. |
Department |
The name of the department. If there is more than one value, by default, the system will display “select” in the drop-down list box. You can select the required department from the drop -down list box. |
Job Title |
The title of the job defined by the organization. If there is more than one value, by default, the system will display “select” in the drop -down list box. You can select the required job title from the drop- down list box. |
Position Title |
The title of the position defined by the organization. If there is more than one value, by default, the system will display “select” in the drop- down list box. You can select the required position title from the drop- down list box. |
Competency |
The description of the competency. Competency can be, for example, SQL skills. |
Select the “Display Competency Gaps” pushbutton.
On selecting the “Display Competency Gaps” pushbutton, the system displays the following in the “Summary of Competency Gap” multiline.
Competency |
The description of the competency gap possessed by the employee. |
No. Of employees |
The total number of employees who do not possess the competency specified in the gap criteria group box. |
The system displays the following in the “Details of Competency Gaps” multiline.
Employee Code |
The code of the employee who does not possess the specified competency or possess less than the desired level of competency. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee who does not possess the specified competency or possess less than the desired level of competency. |
Assignment No |
The assignment number of employee. |
Department |
The department to which the employee belongs. |
Job Title |
The title of the job. |
Position Title |
The title of the position defined by the organization. |
Competency Description |
The description pertaining to the competency. |
Desired Level |
The desired level of the competency. It displays numeric value. |
Possessed Level |
The possessed level of the competency by an employee. |
Comments |
Any comment pertaining to the competency gaps of the employee. |

Select the zoom icon “book” that is provided along with the comment field.
Enter the comments in detail.
Select “save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
Select “cancel” pushbutton, if you do not want to save the details entered.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details.
