Select the “Help” icon beside the “Pay Element Code” field to launch the “Help on Pay elements” page.

To select through Search Criteria
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the pay element code or the pay element description. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the pay element code or description contain. Search based on wild card characters is also supported.
Enter / Select the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box.
Pay Element Code |
To view all the pay element codes containing specific characters, enter the starting characters of a pay element. |
Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. For example if you enter the characters HO0*, the system displays all the pay element records whose pay element codes start with HO0. Other examples are H*0 and *00* | |
Payset Short Description |
To view pay element records whose descriptions contain specific characters, type in the starting letter/s of these characters or any combination with wild cards. For example, if “HO0” is searched for, the system displays all the pay element record descriptions starting with or containing the characters “HO”. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
A list of pay element records satisfying the search criteria will be displayed.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system
will fetch the records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch
the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select
the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the pay element records
that are applicable to the selected payroll general information unit.
The multiline displays the following details of the Pay elements under the selected Org. Unit Group.
Pay Element Code |
A unique code to identify the Pay element. |
Pay Element Description |
A unique description of the Pay element. |
Alias |
A unique alias of the Pay element. |
Classification |
It is the classification of pay elements. |
Taxable |
The system will display either of the two values viz. “Yes”, “No”. “Yes” implies the pay element is subject to tax under law and “No” implies Pay element is non-taxable. |
Recurring |
The system will display either of the two values viz. “Yes”, “No”. “Yes” indicates that the pay element is recurring in nature and “No” indicates that the pay element is non-recurring. |
Cash Flow Postings |
The system will display one among the three values viz. inflow, outflow and none. Inflow indicates that cash comes into the company. Outflow indicates that cash goes out of the company. When there is no outflow or inflow of cash, then “None” is displayed. |
Separate Round Off |
Separate Round Off” indicates that the difference of the number and its nearest whole number will be posted under a separate account number in general ledger “yes” implies that the pay element has “separate round off” feature otherwise “No” is displayed. |
Select the pay element by clicking the check box beside the record.
Select “OK” pushbutton.
The selected pay element code and pay element description of the selected record are displayed in the corresponding fields of the previous page.
Select “Cancel” pushbutton to cancel all the data entered and the previous page is displayed.
Use this page to select a pay element
