How to use the web page

Using online help

The “Record Appraisal Objective Parameters” page appears.

The system displays the following fields:

Date format

The date format that is applicable to the login user.

Appraisal Setup Unit

The drop-down list box displays the set of organization units in which the Appraisal Setup component is deployed. Tell me more.

From the “Appraisal Setup Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit where appraisal objective parameter has been defined.

Appraisal Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of appraisal for which the appraisal calendar will be defined.

Appraisal Calendar Code

The code of the appraisal calendar in which the appraisal falls.

The system displays the following fields:

Calendar Short Description

A short description of the appraisal calendar.

Period From

The date from which the appraiser is mapped to the appraisee.

Period To

 The date until which the appraiser is mapped to the  appraisee.

Status

The status of the appraisal objective parameters. The status can be one of the following “In Progress” or “Completed”.

Parameter Category

From the drop-down list box, select the parameter category for the calendar code. The combo is loaded from the user defined quick codes. One or many Parameter Categories can be mapped to the Calendar.

Default Parameter Category

Check this box to default the parameter category value. Atleast one parameter category value must be defaulted for the Calendar code.

Weightage Computation Level

Use the drop-down list box to select the weightage computation level. The combo is loaded with the values “Select”, “Objective”, “Objective Group”, “Objective Group – Type” and “Objective Type”.

Objective Group

From the drop-down list box, select the objective group from which you require to import objectives. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in "Record Appraisal Objective Parameter" activity for the selected appraisal calendar in the multiline. The system displays "Select" by default on launch of the page.

Weightage

A number to indicate the weightage you want to assign to the project/other duty, with respect to the other objectives listed in the multiline. See example below

The system saves the objective group details and the status is changed to “In Progress”.

Objective Type

From the drop-down list box, select the type of an objective from which you require to import objectives. The combo is loaded with the values as defined in "Record Appraisal Objective Parameter" activity for the selected appraisal calendar in the multiline. The system displays "Select" by default on launch of the page.

The combo is loaded with the values as defined in "Record Appraisal Objective Parameter" activity for the selected appraisal calendar in the multiline. The system displays "Select" by default on launch of the page.

Rating Pattern

From the drop-down list box, select the rating pattern for the objective group and type combination. The combo is loaded from the user defined quick codes. One or many Rating Pattern can be mapped to the objective group and Type for the calendar and Parameter Category Combination.

Default Rating Pattern

Check this box to default the rating pattern value. Atleast one rating pattern value must be defaulted.

Both multilines display the following, for each objective and for each assignment

Weightage (in %)

The weightage assigned to the objective or assignment, in percentage.

Example:

If the weightage computation level is set as ”Objective Group”, then the objective group weightage % is calculated as shown below: Objective Group G1 weightage % = ((Objective Group G1 Weightage / sum(Objective Group G1 Weightage + Objective Group G2 Weightage....))*100

If the weightage computation level is set as ”Objective Type”, then the objective type weightage % is calculated as shown below: Objective Type T1 weightage % = ((Objective Type T1 Weightage / sum(Objective Type T1 Weightage + Objective Type T2 Weightage....))*100

If the weightage computation level is set as ”Objective Group - Type”, then the objective type weightage % under a Group is calculated as shown below: Objective Type T1 weightage % = ((Objective Type T1 Weightage / sum(Objective Type T1 Weightage + Objective Type T2 Weightage....))*100 * Objective Gropu G1 weightage %

Objective Group

The objective group for which the ratings are provided.

Objective Type

The objective type for which the ratings are provided.

Rating Pattern

The rating pattern against the objective group and objective type.

Rating From

Enter a number to indicate the lower limit of the rating, for this grade. The “Rating From“ value of each multiline row must be continuous with the “Rating To“ value of the next consecutive multiline row. For example, the grade could be “Good“, and the ratings are 70 to 80. The next consecutive grade could be “Very Good“; the ratings could be from 80.1 to 90.

The lower limit of the lowest grade must start from 0.0.

Rating To

Enter a number to indicate the upper limit of the rating, for this grade. The “Rating To” value of the grade with the highest rating must be the same value you entered in the ‘Maximum Rating’ field.

Rate Grade Description

The description of the rate grade.

Rate Grade Long Description

The detailed description of the rate grade.

Achievement % / Units From

The achievement in percentage or in unit for the Rating Range specified.

Achievement % / Units To

The achievement in percentage or in unit for the Rating Range specified.

Remarks

Any remarks or comments regarding the objective rating.

The system saves the objective type details and the status is changed to “In Progress”.
