FMLA Leave Setup – A Summary of the Activity
Through this activity, you can maintain the FMLA leave parameter details. You can select the leave type and specify the parameter details. You can specify the minimum service period required with the current employer in the Eligibility and Entitlement group box and set the number of units, validity for the units in the Entitlement group box. You can also map applicable paid time off leave types, concurrency parameter and leave reasons for a selected leave type.

FMLA Leave Setup
ØSelect “FMLA Leave Setup” under “Leave Definition” to navigate to the “FMLA Leave Setup” page.
ØEnter the following field details in the header:
Leave Definition Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the organization unit for which you require to maintain leave reasons. |
FMLA Leave Type |
The FMLA leave type for which the parameter details have to be set. The combo is loaded with system defined quick codes. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. The drop-down is defaulted with “Select” on launch of the page. |
Applicable To |
The state/district to which the FMLA leave parameter is applicable. The combo is loaded with system defined quick codes. From the drop-down list box, select the required value. The drop-down is defaulted with “Select” on launch of the page. |
Version |
This combo is loaded with all the stored values of the leave type with all versions. Note: The previous version is displayed as “01/01/2014 to 31/12/2014”. The latest version is shown as “01/01/2015 Onwards”. |
ØSelect either “Correct” or “Update” as per requirement.
On selecting the radio button next to “Correct”, the “New Effective From” field is disabled and correction is saved for the latest version.
On selecting the radio button next to “Update”, the “New Effective From” field is enabled and new record is created with the new version.

Enter the new effective from date. |

Tab – Eligibility & Entitlement
Eligibility
ØEnter the following field details:
Minimum Service |
Enter the employee’s minimum service period with the current employer to avail the leave eligibility. The combo is loaded with “Day(s)”, “Month(s)”, “Week(s)” and Year(s). The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Gender |
From the drop-down list box, select the gender of the employee. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with “Male”, “Female” and “All” options for you to choose. |
Minimum Working Hours |
Enter the minimum working hours required to avail the leave eligibility. |
ØSelect the checkbox next to “Break in Service Allowed” if the employer is allowed to break the service in between.
Average Working Hours |
Enter the average working hours to avail the leave eligibility. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with “Day” and “Week” options. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Entitlement
ØEnter the following field details:
Year Basis |
From the drop-down list box, select the required option. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with “Anniversary Based”, “Calendar Year”, “Rolling Backward” and “Rolling Forward” options for you to choose. |
Units of Entitlement |
Enter the number of leave units entitled for the leave type. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with “Day(s)” and “Week(s)” options for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Minimum – Maximum |
Enter the minimum and maximum number of leave units. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with Day(s) and Week(s) options for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Maximum Holidays Excluded |
Enter the maximum number of leave units for which the holidays are to be excluded. From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with Day(s) and Week(s) options for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
ØClick “Save” to save the details entered.
Tab – Paid Time Off
Paid Time-Off Applicability
The following options are listed in “Paid Time-Off Applicability” section:
4 Allow
4 Mandatory
4 Disallow
Note: Select either “Allow”, “Mandatory” or “Disallow” as per requirement.
Select Paid Time Off type and set priority
ØEnter the following field details in the multiline:
Paid Time Off Type |
From the drop-down list box, select the required paid time off leave type for which you wish to map the parameters. |
Priority |
Enter the priority sequence for the paid time of leave. |
ØClick “Save” to save the details entered.
Tab – Concurrency
Select Concurrent Time Off and set priority
ØEnter the following field details in the multiline:

From the drop-down list box, select the required time off leave type for which you wish to map the parameters. The combo is loaded with “Federal FMLA” and “Vacation Leave” for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Priority |
Enter the priority sequence for the time of leave. |
ØClick “Save” to save the details entered.

Document Required |
From the drop-down list select the required option. The combo is loaded with the “Yes” and “No” options for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. |
Couples Eligibility |
From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The combo is loaded with the values “Combined” and “Separated” for you to choose. The system displays “Select” by default on launch of the page. 4 Combined – Select this option if you wish to combine the eligibility. 4 Separated – Select this option if you wish to consider the eligibility separately. |
