Select “View Hierarchy Parameters” from the left pane.
The “Select Hierarchy Parameters to View” page appears.
To select an organizational element, specify the following:
Hierarchies Unit |
The description of the Hierarchies Unit for which the organization hierarchy is defined. Select the required hierarchy unit from the drop-down list box. |
Language |
The system displays the language in which the login user logged in. In other words, this refers to the language you selected in the login screen, to access this activity. |

From the drop-down list box, select the required language. |
A blank multiline appears, containing the following fields: “Hierarchy Code”, “Hierarchy Short Description” and “Hierarchy Long Description”.
Select the Hierarchy record, either through the “Direct Entry” group box or through the “Search Criteria” group box.
Use this method if you know the complete code of the required Hierarchy in the organization structure.
Enter the complete code of the Hierarchy in the “Hierarchy Code” field.
Select the “View Hierarchy Parameters” hyperlink beside.
The “View Hierarchy Parameters” page appears. All details of the selected record are displayed.
To view the Hierarchy Parameters, refer to the topic “Viewing a Hierarchy Parameters”.
Use this method if you know just a few characters of the Hierarchy code. In the search criteria group box, specify the search criteria based on which the system will fetch the records.
To specify the search criteria, you must enter one or more characters that the hierarchy code contains. Search based on wild card characters is also supported. To narrow your search to the closest matching records, you can also enter search criteria for the “Hierarchy Short Description” and “Hierarchy Long Description” fields.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.
Hierarchy Code |
To view all the Hierarchy codes containing specific characters, type in a starting range of these characters along with the wild card character *. For example, if you type in hier*, the system will display all the organizational element records having the prefix “hier”. |
Hierarchy Short Description |
To view all hierarchy short descriptions containing specific characters, type in a range of these characters along with the wild card character "*". Examples: Report* |
Hierarchy Long Description |
To view all hierarchy long descriptions containing specific characters, type in a range of these characters along with the wild card character "*". Examples: Reporting* |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note:
If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the
records that satisfy this value.
If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch
the records satisfying all the specified values.
If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select
the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are
available for the selected organization structure unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the Hierarchy records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Hierarchy Code |
A unique code of the Hierarchy unit. |
Hierarchy Short Description |
A brief description of the Hierarchy unit. |
Hierarchy Long Description |
A more elaborate description of the Hierarchy unit. |
Select the data hyperlink on the “Hierarchy Short Description” of the required Hierarchy record in the multiline.
The system displays the “View Hierarchy Parameters Details” page, which you can use to view the details.
