Applicant Selection – An Overview

Selection is the process by which applicants are selected for a position in the organization. The selection process of selecting suitable applicant and getting authorized with salary fitments made is supported in Ramco Hire Process. Other joining formalities like medical fitness, reference checks and document verification are also supported in Ramco Hire Process.

Authorize Applicant Selection: Through this activity, you can authorize an applicant selected for a position or job for which the hire request has been made. Applicant selection is the concluding stage of the hire process. The HR user, having the necessary data level security permissions can assess the competence of an applicant for a job and decide if the applicant must be selected, rejected or waitlisted. To enable the HR user to take an informed decision with regard to which applicants are more competent for the job and hence must be selected and which of them must be either rejected or waitlisted, the system facilitates viewing information on the various competence levels and eligibility criteria of each applicant. This information helps in making the final decision in applicant selection.

The HR user can view the following aspects of information relating to the applicant before deciding on selecting, rejecting or wait listing the applicant:

§          The overall ratings scored by the applicant in the selection process.

§          The overall ratings sum up the scores of the applicant in the various stages and exercises of the evaluation process and his/her scores in the competencies relevant for the job.

§          The stage and exercise wise ratings of the applicant.

§          The competency and competency element wise ratings of the applicant.

§          The salary details of the applicant.

§          The resume of the applicant.

In addition, the HR user can also view, the assessment details of all the applicants for the selected hire request.

§          The complete details of the vacancy for which the applicants are being selected.

§          The vacancy allocation details.

The applicant’s proposed salary is planned by taking into consideration his/her current salary. To this end, the HR user can also use the internal equity details as a reference norm.  Note that authorizing salary fitment details is a parameter driven feature which means that an organization has the choice to decide if salary fitment details must be authorized. If the parameter is set as such in the system parameters during deployment of the “Applicant Selection” component, the user can use this activity to authorize salary fitment details.

Perform Applicant Joining: Through this activity, you can perform the formalities that must be completed before an applicant is inducted formally into the organization as an employee. You can use the search facility to specify wild card search parameters for the applicant details and select the required employee for whom you can record joining details.

View Applicant Joining Details: Through this activity, you can view the applicant joining details pertaining to the joining formalities that must be completed before an applicant is inducted formally into the organization as an employee. You can use the search facility to specify wild card search parameters for the applicant details and select the required employee joining details you want to view.
