Help on Business Term

This page allows you to search the required business terms details for a component. The user can search by specifying the activity, user interface, business term name, description, data type, length, precision type etc. Based on the search criteria specified, the system retrieves and displays the corresponding details and displays them in the multiline. The selected business term and its corresponding details are transferred to the required page when it is confirmed.

Click next to the “Business Term” field.

The “Help on Business Term” page appears.

The following details are displayed in the header from the main page:

Business Process	The business process for which the business terms have been defined.
Component	The component for which the business terms have been defined.

Enter the following details in the header:

Activity	Use the drop-down list box to select the activity for which you want to retrieve the list of business terms. The list of activities defined for the specified component is displayed as options.
User Interface	Use the drop-down list box to select the user interface for which you want to retrieve the list of business terms. The list of user interface defined for the specified component is displayed as options.
Business Term Name	The name of the business term whose details you want to retrieve. You can specify the name fully or partially using the “*” as wild card character.
Business Term Description	The description of the business term whose details you want to retrieve. You can specify the name fully or partially using the “*” as wild card character.
Data Type	Use the drop-down list box to select the data type by which you want to retrieve the list of business terms. The data types listed are “Character – Ascii Fixed”, “Character – Ascii Variable”, “Character – Unicode Fixed”, “Character – Unicode Variable”, “Date”, “Date – Time”, “Integer”, “Numeric” and “Time”.
Length From	The starting length from which you want to retrieve the list of business terms.
Length To	The ending length from which you want to retrieve the list of business terms.
Precision Type	If the data type of the business term is chosen as “Numeric” select the precision type by which you want to retrieve the list of business terms from the drop-down list box. The list of precision types defined through the “Define Precision Types” tab in “Specify User Interface Preferences” page is displayed as options.
Fetch Default only	Click the checkbox to retrieve only the list of business terms that have been set as default.

Click “Search”.

The system retrieves and displays the business terms details based on the specified search and filter criteria in the multiline.

Business Term Name	The name of the business term.
Business Term Description	The description of the business term.
Data Type	The data type to which the business term belongs.
Length	The length of the business term.
Precision Type	If the data type of the business term is “Numeric” then the precision type is displayed.
Default Business Term	The system displays “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the business term is set as default business term for the user interface.

Click the checkbox next to the business terms in the multiline to select the business term details.
Click “OK” to transfer the data.
