Viewing a competency class

To select through direct entry

Enter the complete code of the required competency class in the “Competency Class Code” field.
Select the “View Competency Class” hyperlink beside.
The system displays the “View Competency Class” page, which you can use to view the complete details of the competency class.

To select through search criteria

Use the search facility to fetch the required competency class record in the multiline.
Select the hyperlink on the short description of the required competency class.
The system displays the “View Competency Class” page.
The system displays the following details at the top of the page.

Competency Definition Unit	The description of the competency definition unit selected in the previous page.
Competency Class Code	The code of the competency class selected in the previous page.

To view the competency class details in any of the available languages

Language

The language you selected in the previous page is displayed.

From the “Language” drop-down list box, you can select any other language, to retrieve the record in the selected language.

Competency Class Short Description	A brief description of the competency class. For example, if the description is “Behavioral Traits”, the short description can be an abbreviated form such as “BT” or a short form for the description such as “Beh. Trts” or “Behvl Traits” etc.
Competency Class Long Description	A more elaborate description of the competency class. For example, if the competency class is “Behavioral Traits” for which the short description is “Behvl Traits”, the long description can be “Behavioral Traits with respect to Quality Management” or “Behavioral Traits with respect to employee motivation” etc. By default, the value entered for short description will be displayed in this field if no value has been specified.
Inactive	Indicates if the details of the competency class are in active status and available for use in other activities or otherwise. “Yes” indicates the details are active and available for use in other activities, “No” indicates otherwise.
Comments	Any additional comments entered about the competency class details.

To view comments

Select the book icon beside the “Comments” field.
The system displays a dialog box containing the comments previously specified, if any.
You can view the content.
Select the “OK” pushbutton in the dialog box to save the changes and return to the previous page.
Select the “Cancel” pushbutton to return to the previous page without saving the changes you made.
