Help on Alternate Part Information

This page allows you to select the alternate part numbers that are valid parts existing in the inventory. When a part, which is not available in the inventory, is requested for issue, the material controller will be able to issue a substitute for the requested part.

You can select the part number from the list displayed. On confirmation, the selected alternate part is transferred to the required page.

Click the lens icon next to “Alternate Part” field in the main screen.

The system displays the following in the “Primary Part Information” group box:

Part #	The number identifying the part for which alternate parts are requested.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.
Part Category	The category to which the part belongs.
Part Type	The part type, which could be “Raw Material", "Component", "Expendable", "Tool", "Consumable" , "Miscellaneous"or "Kit".

The system displays the following in the “Alternate Part Information” multiline:

Interchangeable Part #	The part number that can be used as a substitute for the primary part.
Part Description	The textual description of the interchangeable part.
Quantity	The total quantity of the interchangeable part available in the warehouse.
UOM	The unit of measurement in which the interchangeable part is stocked.
Stock Status	The stock status of the interchangeable part.
Warehouse #	The number identifying the warehouse.
WH – Zone #	The number identifying the zone in the warehouse.
Bin #	The number identifying the bin.
Part Serial #	The serial number of the interchangeable part.
Manufacturer Serial #	The serial number assigned to the interchangeable part, by the manufacturer.
Lot #	The lot number of the interchangeable part.
Manufacturer Lot #	The lot number assigned to the interchangeable part, by the manufacturer.
Condition	The condition of the part.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the alternate part.

Click the “OK” pushbutton.
