Modifying the parameter details for the serial or lot number controlled part
You can modify the maintenance parameter values for the part for which the opening balance has been recorded. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Parameter Information” link at the bottom of the “Serial & Lot Details” page.
The “Edit Parameter Information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Opening Balance Information” group box:
Opening Balance # |
The number identifying the opening balance document. |
Status |
The status of the opening balance document, which could be , “Draft” or “Fresh”. |
Line # |
The line number of the document for which the parameter details must be entered. |
Enter the following:
Part Serial # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the serial number of the part to update the parameter information. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve all the serial numbers of the part corresponding to the line number and of the part type “Component”.
The system displays the following in the “Part Details” group box:
Part # |
The number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Condition |
The condition of the part, which could be “New”, “Overhaul”, “Serviceable” , “Un Serviceable” or "phased Out".. |
The system displays the following in the “Certificate Details” group box:
Certificate Type |
The type of the certificate that is issued to the specified part or supplier. |
Certificate Date |
The date on which the certificate was issued. |
Certificate # |
The code identifying the certificate. |
Authorization # |
The code identifying the authorization of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). |
System Tracking Ref # |
The number used to track the certification details of the stock. |
Enter the following:
Warranty Lapse Date |
The date on which the warranty of the part lapses (Date Format). It is mandatory to enter this date, when “Warranty “Y/N” field displays “Yes”, as set in the “Aircraft” component. |
The system displays the following in the “Parameter Details” multiline:
Note: The system retrieves all the consumption parameters and the UOM details associated with the part, from the “Aircraft” business component.
Parameter |
The measurable attribute of a component, such as CSO /TSO /CSI / TSI /CSR /TSR (Cycles or Time Since Overhaul/Inspection/ Repair), through which the life and maintenance of a component is monitored. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement, such as flying hours or flying cycles, for monitoring the life and maintenance of a component. |
Note: Fractions can be entered, only if the UOM has been set to “Allow fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.
Enter the following:
Unknown? |
Use the drop-down list box, to specify whether the “Since New” value is known or unknown, when the parts of condition other than “New” is first inducted into the system. The system lists the following options:
The system displays “No” by default. If the part is of condition “New”, the system displays only the “No” option. |
Since New |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since it is manufactured. |
Note: If the part is first inducted into the system, and if the condition of the part is other than “New”, then the “Since New” value can be entered, only if the “Unknown?” field is set as “No”.
Note: All the parameter values will be blank, if the part condition is “ New”.
Since Overhaul |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last overhaul in the shop. |
Note: Ensure that the parameter value for “Since New” is greater than zero and other maintenance activities such as “Since Repair”, “Since Inspection”, and “Since Last Shop Visit” is zero, if the part condition is “Overhaul”.
Since Repair |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last repair in the shop. |
Since Inspection |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last inspection in the shop. |
Since Last Shop Visit |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last visit to the shop for maintenance. |
Note: Ensure that the parameter value for “Since New”, “Since Overhaul”, “Since Repair” “Since Last Shop Visit” and “Since Inspection” are equal to or greater than zero, if the part condition is “Serviceable”.
The system displays the following:
Warranty Y/N |
The system displays “Yes”, if the part is under warranty. Otherwise, the system displays “No”. This information is fetched from the Aircraft component. |
Enter the following:
Warranty Value |
The value of the part that is covered by warranty. It is mandatory to enter a value in this field, when “Warranty Y/N” field displays “Yes”. |
Click the “Edit Parameter Information” pushbutton to store the details.
If the part is first inducted into the system and if the option set in the “Unknown” field is “Yes”, the system performs the following:
If any one of the “Since Overhaul", "Since Inspection", "Since Last Shop Visit", or "Since Repair" field is entered, the system updates the “Since New” field with the available parameter value.
If values are available in more than one of the “Since Overhaul", "Since Inspection", "Since Last Shop Visit", and "Since Repair" fields, the system updates the “Since New” field with the greatest of the available parameter value.
The system ensures that all the details are entered for the parameters for which “Parameter Update” is set as “Mandatory” in the “Create Component Record” activity of the “Aircraft” business component.
Modifying the parameter details for the serial or lot number controlled part – An overview
You can modify the maintenance parameter values for the part for which the opening balance has been recorded. The parameter details can be modified only for the part, which is serial number controlled.
You can update parameters, such as the time or cycle since the component was manufactured or underwent maintenance like overhaul, repair and inspection.
You can also update the warranty details for the serial number controlled part. If the part is under warranty, you can modify the warranty value of part.

You can modify the parameter values of the serial number controlled part.
Select the part serial number for which the parameter values must be entered, in the “Part Serial #” drop-down list box.
Update the parameter value in “Since New” field, if you wish to modify the flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since it is manufactured.
Update the parameter value in “Since Overhaul” field, if you wish to modify the flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last overhaul in the shop.
Update the parameter value in “Since Repair” field, if you wish to modify the flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last repair by the shop.
Update the parameter value in “Since Inspection” field, if you wish to modify the flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last inspection in the shop.
Update the parameter value in “Since Last Visit Shop” field, if you wish to modify the flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last visit by the shop.
Update the warranty value for the part
If the part is under warranty, you can specify the value of the part that is covered by warranty.
Enter the warranty value of the part in the “Warranty Value” field, in the “Parameter Details” multiline.
