Maintenance Budget Forecasting – An overview
The Maintenance Budget Forecast business component estimates the maintenance cost incurred on an aircraft and its systems. The forecast, which can be performed for a maximum of twelve years, can be done for an individual aircraft, or for all the aircraft(s) that belong to a model or a sub fleet.
This business component enables you to forecast the maintenance costs in terms of material costs and labor costs, and the overhead costs incurred on an aircraft and its systems. This will eventually help in estimating the maintenance costs incurred on scheduled and unscheduled activities. Forecasting also forms the basis for identifying the most economical fleet. This business component mainly serves as an analysis tool for reducing the overall maintenance cost for a particular aircraft.
The cost incurred on unscheduled maintenance activities is estimated for the entire forecasting period, by averaging the unscheduled maintenance cost identified for the user-defined historical period.
