Setting options for Maintenance Budget Forecasting

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This activity allows you to set options for maintenance budget forecasting.

The “Set Options” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date field is displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

Note: The negative tolerance values entered in this group box, will be applicable for all the major work units that are considered for forecasting from the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” business component.

Usage Based Work Units in %

The negative tolerance for the usage based major work units, which is the lower limit of the parameter value lesser than the next schedule value, within which the major work unit can be performed. (Decimal). The value must lie between 1 and 100.

For example, if the major work units for an aircraft has an Interval (Fixed or Floating) defined for 150 hours and the tolerance is 10%, then the next schedule value on which the work unit would be forecasted will be 150 - (150*10/100) = 135

Time Based Work Units in Days

The negative tolerance for the date based major work units, which is the maximum time period ahead of the next schedule date, within which the major work unit can be performed. (Decimal). The value must be greater than zero.

Note: If the tolerance value is not entered, then the negative tolerance value provided in the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” will be considered for forecasting.

Note: The negative tolerance values entered in this group box, will be applicable for all the minor work units that are considered for forecasting from the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” business component and for all the work units that are considered for forecasting from the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.

Usage Based Work Units in %

The negative tolerance for the usage based minor work units, which is the lower limit of the parameter value lesser than the next schedule value, within which the minor work unit can be performed. (Decimal). The value must lie between 1 and 100.

Time Based Work Units in Days

The negative tolerance for date based minor work units, which is the maximum time period ahead of the next schedule date, within which the work unit can be performed. (Decimal). The value must be greater than zero.

Note: If the tolerance value is not entered then the negative tolerance value provided in the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” or “Component Maintenance Program” will be considered for forecasting.

Historical Period for Unscheduled Cost Calculation in Months

The duration for which the cost incurred on unscheduled maintenance should be considered for forecasting (Integer). The value entered must be positive.

Note: The unscheduled maintenance cost identified for the specified historical period will be averaged for the entire forecasting period. For example, if the historical period is six months, the system considers the unscheduled maintenance cost for six months from the forecast start date, and averages the cost for the entire forecasting period.

Note: If the “Historical Period for Unscheduled Cost Calculation” is specified then all the unscheduled work units that are in “Closed”, “Completed” or “Short Closed” status as defined in “Hangar Work Reporting”, “Component Work Reporting” or “Technical Log” business components, will be considered for forecasting.

Note: If this field is left blank, unscheduled cost will not be considered for forecasting.

Note: If the Historical Period For Unscheduled Cost Calculation is modified, the scheduler must be run, to update the unscheduled work unit count and the unscheduled cost.

Labour Productivity

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether labor productivity must be considered for forecasting. The system lists the options, “Considered” and “Not Considered”. The system displays “Considered” by default.

Productivity

The value identifying the labor productivity (Decimal). The value must lie between 0 and 1.

Multiplication Factor

The factor by which the labour productivity must be multiplied (Integer). The value must be greater than zero.

Note: The multiplication factor must be entered only if the labor productivity must be considered.

Note: The system sets the “Productivity” and “Multiplication Factor” as ‘1’ on clicking the “Set Options” pushbutton, if the fields are left blank and if the labor productivity must be considered for forecasting.

Overhead Per FH

The overhead cost per flight hour (Integer). The value must be positive.

Note: If this field is left blank, the system will not consider the overhead cost for forecasting.

Note: The system displays an error message, if any other concurrent user attempts to simultaneously modify the details of the work unit selected in the multiline.

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user who last modified the option settings.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the option settings were last modified.
