Reporting delay/operation interruption details for journey log
This page allows you to enter delay information for the journey log. Tell me more.
Select the “Report Delay/Operation Interruption Details” link at the bottom of the “Create Journey Log” page or 'Edit Journey Log" page.
The “Report Delay/Operation Interruption Details” page appears.
Note: The system does not launch this page if the journey log is “Approved” or “Cancelled”.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date fields and time fields are to be entered. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. The time is displayed as HH:MM or HHMM, in 24 hour format. For example, 11:00pm is displayed as 23:00 and 10:45am is displayed as 10:45. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Flight Details” group box:
Journey Log # |
The journey log number for which the delay details are to be entered. |
Amendment# |
The number identifying the amended journey log. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Status |
The status of the journey log, which could be “Fresh” or “Under Amendment”. |
Enter the following:
Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the journey log for which delay details are to be entered. The system lists all the line numbers identified for the journey log. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve flight details pertaining to the leg number.
The system displays the following:
From Station |
The station at which the leg of the journey starts. |
To Station |
The station at which the leg of the journey ends. |
From Date & Time |
The date and time at which the leg of the journey starts. |
To Date & Time |
The date and time at which the leg of the journey ends. |
Flight Status |
The Flight Status of the aircraft could be any one of the following options:

Enter the following in the “Interruption Details” group box:
Reason # |
The unique number identifying the reason for flight interruption reported during the journey of the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. The reason number entered here must be in “Active” status as defined in the “Create Flight Delay Codes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component, if the flight status is either “On Schedule” or “Delayed”.. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following:
Reason Category |
The category under which the reason for interruption is classified. The system retrieves and displays the reason category associated to the selected “Reason #” as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. |
Enter the following:
ATA# |
The ATA number on which the delay is reported (Alphanumeric, 16). Mandatory. The ATA chapter should have already been defined in the “Create ATA Chapter” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and the status of the ATA chapter must be “Active” Help facility available. |
The system displays the following:
Reason Description |
The textual description of reason for the delay reported. The system retrieves description of reason associated to the selected “Reason #” as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. |
Enter the following:
Reason for Interruption |
The textual description of the reason for interruption reported on the flight operation (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Action Taken |
The action taken to erase or minimize the delay of flight operation. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the interruption of flight operation. (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following
Reporting Status |
The reporting status of the interruption. The system displays the value as “Reported” when an Interruption is recorded here. |
Note: Ensure that all the fields mentioned above, in the “Interruption Details” group box ,are left blank if the flight status is “Delayed”.
The system displays the following in the “Delay Details” multilane:
Delay Category |
The category of the delay. The system displays one of the following: “Passenger and Baggage”, “Cargo and Mail”, “Aircraft and Ramp Handling”, “Technical and Aircraft Equipment”, “Damage to Aircraft & EDP/Automated Equipment Failure”, “Flight Operation and Crewing”, “Weather”, “Airport and Government Authorities”, “Reactionary” and “Miscellaneous”. |
Enter the following:
Delay # |
The number identifying the delay (Alphanumeric, 25). Ensure that the delay number is in the “Active” status, as defined in “Create Flight Delay codes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. Help facility available. |
Note: In the event of modifying the already associated delay number, the system displays an error message. To delete existing delay details, check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the Delete icon.
Ensure that the delay code is not repeated in the “Delay Details” multiline for the journey log.
The system displays the following:
Delay Description |
The textual description of the delay. |
Delay On |
The type of the delay for which the details are recorded. |
Enter the following:
ATA # |
The ATA number on which the delay is reported (Alphanumeric, 16). The ATA number must have already been defined in the “Create ATA Chapter” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and must be in ‘Active’ status. Help facility available. |
Enter the following:
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit in which the time duration is measured. The system displays the option “Days”, “Hours” and “Minutes”. By default, the system sets the option as “Minutes”. |
Delay Duration |
The duration of the delay (Integer). Ensure that the value entered is a positive value. |
Note: The “Delay Duration” must be entered if the “Delay#” is specified.
Reason For Delay |
The reason for not meeting the scheduled timings (Alphanumeric, 255). For example, the reason for delay could be landing path unavailability or mechanical delay. |
Action Taken |
The action taken to erase or minimize the delay (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Remarks |
Any remarks or comments about the delay (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Note: All the fields in the “Delay Details” multiline mentioned above must be left blank, if the flight status is any one of the following options: “Cancelled”, “Substituted”, ”Air Turned Back”, “Ground Turned Back” or “Diverted”.
The system displays the following field.
Reporting Status |
The reporting status of the operational interruption. The system displays the value as “Reported” when delay code(s) are recorded here. |
Note: Ensure that atleast one record is available in the multiline, if the flight status is “Delayed”.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the delay for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the delays selected in multiline.
Click the “Report Delay/Operation Interruption Details” pushbutton to update the delay details.
Note: The system updates the “Flight Status” of the journey log as “Delayed”.
Note: You cannot modify the details available in the “Interruption Details” group box and/or the details available in the multiline, if the reporting status is “Regularized”.
Entering operational interruption details for journey log – An overview
This page allows you to enter delay information for all the journey logs that are not “Approved” or “Cancelled”. In this page, you can enter the delays that have occurred during the journey. Delay details such as the delay on departure and delay on arrival with inflight delay can be viewed, in days, hours and minutes. You can enter the delay code, the reason for delay and the action taken while reporting delay information.
The system updates the delay details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the server date.
Enter the number identifying the delay in the “Delay#” field.
Use the “Time Unit” drop-down list box to select the time unit in which the delay duration is measured.
