Regularizing operational interruption details for journey log leg
In this page, you can modify and regularize the interruption or delay details recorded for the leg of the journey log. Tell me more.
Select the “Regularize Operational Interruption Details” from the select page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked journey log number in the search results multiline.
The “Regularize Operational Interruption Details” page appears.
This page can be launched only if the “Reported Delay Modification” field is set to either “Add New Delays” or “Fully Modifiable” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
Note: You cannot launch this page if the journey log has reference to technical logs in “Cancelled” status.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed. The format is displayed from the “user Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component. |
The system displays the following details in the “Flight Details” group box.
Journey Log # |
The number identifying the journey log for which the flight interruption details are to be regularized. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the journey log details are entered. |
Sch. Departure Date |
The scheduled date of departure of the flight for which the interruption details are to be regularized. |
Enter the following field:
Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the line number of the journey log. The system lists all the line numbers defined for the journey log. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the Operational Interruption details for the selected journey log line number.
The system displays the following details.
Flight Status |
The flight status of the aircraft which could be any one of the following options: “On Schedule”, “Delayed”, “Diverted”, “Air Turned Back”, “Ground Turned Back”, Cancelled” or “Substituted”. |
Flight & Leg # |
The flight and leg number of the aircraft. |
Log # |
The log number reference in the journey log. This number refers to the page number in the journey log. |
Enter the following field in the “Interruption Details” group box:
Reason # |
The unique code identifying the reason for interruption of the flight. Entry in this field is mandatory, if the flight status of the aircraft is “Cancelled”, “Substituted”, “Air Turned Back”, “Ground Turned Back” or “Diverted”. The value entered here must an ‘Active’ reason number as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field:
Reason Category |
The category to which the reason for interruption belongs. The system retrieves and displays the reason category associated to the specified reason number as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. |
Enter the following field:
ATA # |
The ATA number on which the delay is reported (Alphanumeric, 16). The ATA chapter should have already been defined in the “Create ATA Chapter” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and the status of the ATA chapter must be “Active” Help facility available. |
The system displays the following field:
Reason Description |
The textual description of the delay reason reported. The system retrieves and displays the reason description corresponding to the specified reason number as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. |

Reason for Interruption |
The textual description of the reason for interruption reported on the flight operation (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Action Taken |
The action taken to erase or minimize the delay (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the interruption of flight operation (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following field.
Reporting Station |
The station where the leg details are reported. |
The system displays the following details in the “Delay Summary” group box:
Delay on Dep. (Day/Hr/Min) |
The delay at the time of departure of the flight in terms of days, hours and minutes. |
Delay on Arr. (Day/Hr/Min) |
The delay at the time of arrival of the flight in terms of days, hours and minutes. |
The system displays the following field in the “Delay Details” multiline:
Delay Category |
The category under which the delay is reported |
Enter the following field:
Delay # |
The number identifying the delay of the flight (Alphanumeric, 25). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if a value is available in any one of the following fields: “Delay (Days)”, “Delay (Hours)” or “Delay (Minutes)”. Ensure that the value entered here is an ‘Active’ delay number as defined in the “Common Masters” business component. Help facility available. |
Note: The fields in “Interruption Details” group box mentioned above need not be entered if the flight status is “Delayed”.

The type of the delay for which the details are recorded. |
Enter the following details in the multiline:
ATA # |

Delay (Days) |
The delay of the flight in terms of days (Decimal). The value entered here must be greater than zero. |
Delay (Hours) |
The delay of the flight in terms of hours (Decimal). The value entered here must be greater than zero. |
Delay (Minutes) |
The delay of the flight in terms of minutes (Decimal). The value entered here must be greater than zero. |
Reason for Delay |
The textual description of reason for the delay of the flight (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Action Taken |
The action taken to erase or minimize the delay (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the delay of the flight (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Note: Ensure that a value is entered in either “Delay (Days)”, “Delay (Hours)”, or “Delay (Minutes)” field, if the “Delay #” is entered.
The system displays the following field:
Reporting Status |
The reporting status of the flight interruption. |
Note: Ensure that all the above mentioned fields in the multiline are left blank, if the flight status is set to any one of the following options: “Cancelled”, “Substituted”, “Air Turned Back”, “Ground Turned Back” or “Diverted”.
Note: Ensure that atleast one record is available in the multiline, if the flight status is “Delayed”.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a record for deletion.
Click the “Delete” icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the selected record.
Click the “Regularize Operational Interruption Details” pushbutton at the bottom of the page, to regularize the flight delay details.
Note: The system throws an error message if any other concurrent user tries to modify the journey log details.
The system performs the following on clicking the pushbutton:
Updates and displays the value “Regularized” on refresh, when the details of the “Interruption Details” group box or the “Delay Details” multiline are modified.
Calculates the sum of the Delay (Days), Delay (Hours) and Delay (Minutes) for all the records in the multiline for which the “Delay On” field is “Departure”, and displays the calculated value in the Delay on Dep. (Day/Hr/Min) field.
Calculates the sum of the Delay (Days), Delay (Hours) and Delay (Minutes) for all those records in the multiline for which the Delay On field is “Arrival”, and displays the calculated value in the Delay on Arr. (Day/Hr/Min) field.
Allows you to add new delays in the multiline, if the “Reported Delay Modification” drop-down list box is set to “Add New Delays” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component. Also, the system does not allow you to modify any of the details in the “Interruption Details” group box and/or the “Delay Details” mutiline.
Note: Both modification and addition of Operational Interruption details, are allowed, if the “Reported Delay Modification” drop-down list box is set to “Fully Modifiable” in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.
Regularizing interruption information for journey log leg – An overview
In this page, you can modify and regularize the details of interruption or delay recorded for the journey log leg. You can enter or modify the interruption details such as reason number, ATA number, reason for interruption, action taken to minimize the delay and remarks pertaining to the interruption. This can be done only if the flight status is “Cancelled”, “Substituted”, “Air Turned Back”, “Ground Turned Back” or “Diverted”.
You can add a new record in the multiline or modify the existing details of delay, such as delay number, delay in terms of days, hours and minutes, and reason for delay. This can be done only if the flight status of the aircraft is “Delayed”.
The system updates the modified values and sets the “Reporting Status” of the Reason Code/ Delay Code(s) of the journey log leg to “Regularized”.
The delay reason for the aircraft must be categorized in “Create Flight Delay codes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component.
