Aircraft Make

The manufacturer of the aircraft.

Configuration Class

The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated.

Spare part #

The spare part to be associated to the model configuration (Alphanumeric, 40). The spare part number should have already been defined in the “Create Parts Main information“ activity in the “Part administration” business component, and should be in “Active” status. The spare part number should be unique within the multiline.

Ensure that the spare part is of part type “Expendable”, “Consumable” or “Kit”.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Edit Spare Parts List” pushbutton:

Part Description

The textual description of the spare part.

Quantity

The required quantity of spare parts (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Note: If you modify the quantity for the already associated spare part, then the quantity should be greater than the quantity that is already specified, the system generates the position codes for the additional spare parts.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Edit Spare Parts List” pushbutton:

UOM

The unit of measurement for the spare part.

Zone #

The number identifying the zone to which the spare part is attached (Alphanumeric, 15). Mandatory.

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” if you wish to track the spare part details. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”.

Prefix for Position #

The prefix to be used to generate the position code for the spare part, if the spare part is trackable (Alphanumeric, 6). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Trackable” field is set to “Yes”.

Note: Ensure that at least one row is entered in the multiline.

Note: The system generates the position codes for the trackable spare parts entered in the multiline. The value entered in the “Prefix for Position” field is used as the prefix for the position code. The system generates the suffix as a running serial number starting from 1 upto the number that you have entered in the “Quantity” field.

When the “Quantity” field is modified, the system accordingly regenerates the position codes with respect to the modified number.

Defining spare parts for model configuration – An overview

Build Model Configuration - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to identify spare parts for the model configuration. Among the various part numbers associated or fitted to the aircraft, certain parts are identified as spare parts, which are defined in “Part Administration” business component. Some of these spare parts need to be tracked for various reasons such as their high value in terms of their price, warranty requirements and to identify parts that are fitted on a trial basis.

For trackable spare parts, the position codes are generated by the system with a prefix that is user-defined.

You can identify the spare parts for the model configuration and specify the number of spare parts of each type to be identified for the selected model configuration. You can also specify whether the spare part needs to be tracked or not and provide a prefix for the trackable spare parts.

The system associates the spare part number to the model configuration and generates the position code for the trackable spare parts. The system stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
