This page allows you to associate employees to work centers. Tell me more.

The “Associate Employees” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Work Center Details” group box::

Work Center #

The work center to which the employee must be associated. This work center must be of Work Center Class “Execution”.

Work Center Type

The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay”, "Shop", "Line" or “Others”.

Work Center Description

The textual description of the work center.

The system displays the following field:

Currency

The currency in which the company operates. This is defined in “Enterprise Set Up” business component.

If employees have already been associated to the work center, the system displays the details in the “Employee Details” multiline. You can associate employees to the work center by entering the following fields in the multiline:

Employee #

The number identifying the employee (Alphanumeric, 15) Mandatory. Ensure that the employee has already been defined in the “Create Employee File" activity of the “Employee Information” business component.

Help facility available.

Note: In the event of modifying the employee number, the system displays an error message if you enter a employee number that is already associated to this work center.

The system displays the following fields in the multiline on clicking the “Associate Employees” pushbutton:

Employee Name

The name of the employee as defined in the “Create Employee File’ activity of the “Employee Information” business component.

Primary Skill #

The code identifying the primary skill of the employee as defined in the “Create Employee File’ activity of the “Employee Information” business component.

Resource Group

The resource group to which the employee belongs which could be "Inspector", "Mechanic" or "Others".

Planner (Y/N)

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the employee is a planner or not. Select “Yes” to identify the employee as a “planner”. A “planner” is responsible for activities such as resource allocation, resource leveling and job scheduling, within work centers. The system displays “No” by default.

 

The system displays the following field:

Rate / hr

The rate of the employee on an hourly basis.

 

  • Enter the following fields:

Service Area

Use the drop-down list box to specify the area in which the employee can serve. For example, the planner of a location can schedule or allocate work to the work center, only if the location to which the work center is attached, is the service area for that planner. The system provides the options “Current work center”, “Child work center” and “All work centers”.

 
  • Current work center - if the employee can serve only in the current work center.

 
  • Child work center - if the employee can serve in all the child work centers that belong to the hierarchy of the current work center, including the current work center.

 
  • All Work centers - if the employee can serve in all the work centers associated to the login organizational unit.

  • Current Station Work Center – If the employee can serve in the current station-work center combination.

 

The system displays “Current work center“ by default.

Productivity Factor

The number that indicates the efficiency of the employee (Decimal). Ensure that the productivity factor value is between 0 and 1.

Association Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of association of employee to the work center. The system lists the options "Active" and "Inactive". By default, this field is set to "Active".

 

The system displays the following field:

Status

The status of the employee.

Note: You can associate only the employees whose status is “Active”.

Note: The system fills in the “Employee Name”, “Skill Code” and “Currency” fields in the multiline and defines the association between the employees and the work center.

Associating employees to work centers – An overview

Associate Work Center Attributes - A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to associate employees to the work centers. Employees are identified as “Planners”, “Mechanics” or “Others” and are associated to the work center for carrying out the maintenance activities on an aircraft. Using this activity, you can also view the details of the employees who have already been associated to the work center. Details such as the employee number, employee name, skill code, currency, rate, resource group to which the employee belongs, service area, productivity factor and status are displayed.

You can re-define the association between the work center and the employees by adding new employee details or deleting the employee details already associated.

Note: You can identify an employee as a “Planner” in this screen. Only a ‘planner’ will be able to assign jobs to employees and equipment, during work order execution. The planner is responsible for activities such as resource allocation, resource leveling and job scheduling, within work centers.

You can identify an employee as a planner and associate him to the work center. A “Planner” is responsible for activities such as resource allocation, resource leveling and job scheduling, within work centers.

Define productivity factor for the employees

You can indicate the efficiency of the employee in terms of the productivity factor.

Using this activity, you can also identify work units, on which maintenance activities can be carried out, and associate them to the aircraft models.
