Setting authorization rules for the committee
This page allow you can set authorization rules for the authorization committee. Tell me more.
Select the “Set Authorization Rule for Committee” link at the bottom of the “Edit Authorization Committee” page.
The “Set Authorization Rule for Committee” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Authorization Committee Details” group box:
Authorization Committee # |
The number identifying the authorization committee for which you wish to set the authorization rules. |
Note: Ensure that atleast one employee is associated as a member in the authorization committee.
Level # |
The number identifying the level of the authorization committee, for which you wish to set the authorization rules. |
Previous Level Authorization |
The system displays “Mandatory” or “Not Mandatory”, to indicate whether previous level authorization is mandatory or not, for authorization at the current level. |
Authorization By |
The mode by which the engineering document or FCD must be authorized. The system displays one of the following: |

The system displays the details of the rules that are already set for the authorization committee, in the “Document Details” multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Document Details” multiline to add or modify the details:
Change Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the change document type that must be associated to the authorization committee. The system provides the options “engineering document” and “FCD”. |
Source Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the source document type that must be associated to the authorization committee. The system lists all the MCR document types in “Active” status that are defined in the “Create MCR Document Type“ activity of the “Common Masters” business component. |
Note: Ensure that the combination of change document type and source document type is not repeated in the multiline. Also ensure that the document types, for which the rules are already set, are not modified.
Select the record in the multiline, for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the record selected in the multiline.
Click the “Set Authorization Rules” pushbutton, to set the authorization rules for the authorization committee.
Setting authorization rules for the committee – An overview
You can set authorization rules for the authorization committee in this page. Setting authorization rule involves specifying the change document type and the source document type combination for the authorization committee. You can associate these document types to authorization committee and refer to this association while authorizing the engineering documents. The authorization committee can authorize only document types that are specified in this page.
The change document type can be either “Engineering Document” or “FCD”, and the source document type can be the MCR document types defined in the “Create MCR Document Type“ activity of the “Common Masters” business component. You can select document types and associate them to the authorization committee in this page.

Select the change document type to be authorized by the committee, in the “Change Doc Type“ drop-down list box.
Select the source document type to be authorized by the committee, in the “Source Doc Type“ drop-down list box.
