Selecting change request for assigning employees
This page allow you to select a change request for assigning employees. Tell me more.
Select the “Assign Employees” link from the left pane.
The “Select Change Request” page appears.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a change request. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Change Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the change request document, which could be "MCR”. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are of the document type selected here. The system sets the field to “MCR” by default. |
Source Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of source document of the change request, for which you wish to assign the employees. The system lists all the values defined in the "Create Maint. Change Request Doc. Type" activity of the “Common Master” business component. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve change requests irrespective of the source document type. |
Change Request # |
The number of the change request for which you wish to assign the employees (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter of the change request, for which you wish to assign employees (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers containing ATA chapter number similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the all the change requests irrespective of the ATA chapter number. |
Subject |
The textual description of the change request for which you wish to assign the employees (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change requests containing descriptions that are similar to the description entered here. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list to select the applicability of the change request for which you wish to assign employees. The change request could be applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component“. The system sets the field to “Aircraft” by default. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the change request document. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are in the user status specified here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |

Based on the type of the change document, namely “MCR”, the system lists the user statuses that are defined as quick codes in the “Maintenance Change Request” or “Engineering Document” business component. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the change request. The system lists the “Processed” and “Confirmed”, if the “Change Doc Type” is selected as ‘MCR’. |
Assigned ? |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the employee assignment is already done for the change request. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”, |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to display the search results.
Note: If the change document type is “MCR”, the system retrieves all change requests that are in the “Confirmed” status, from the “Maintenance Change Request” business component.
The system retrieves only those change requests that await login user’s authorization as identified in the work flow configured in the “Work Flow Management” business component.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:
Change Doc Type |
The type of the change document, which could be “MCR”. |
Change Request # |
The number identifying the change request. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the change request. This field is displayed only when the change request is an MCR. |
Status |
The status of the change request. The system displays “Confirmed”, if the change document type is “MCR”. |
User Status |
The user-defined status assigned to the change request transaction. |
Applicability |
Indicates whether the change request is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter in which the modification has to be done. |
Assigned (Y/N) |
The system displays either “Yes” or “No”, to indicate whether the employee assignment is already done or not.. |
Subject |
The textual description of the change request. |
Click the hyperlinked change request for assigning employees.
To copy assignment details
Note: Ensure that at least one change request is selected for copying the assignment details.
Enter the following fields in the “Copy Assignment Details From” group box:
Change Request # |
The change request number, the details of which are to be copied into the change request selected in the multiline. |
Use the drop-down list box displayed alongside, to specify the change document type, which could be “MCR”.
If “MCR” is selected, the change request number must have already been defined in the “Create MCR” activity of the “ Maintenance Change Request” business component. The employee assignment should have already been done for this change request.

Revision # |
The revision number of the MCR (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Click the “Copy Assignments” pushbutton, to copy the employee assignment details.
Note: The system copies the employee assignment details to the change request(s) selected in the multiline. The “Assigned Date” is set to the current server date.
Selecting change request for assigning employees – An overview
In this page, you can select a change request for assigning employees. You can carry out a search based on the change document type, source document type, change request number, ATA chapter number, change request description, applicability and the user status. Based on the search criteria, the system retrieves the change requests in the multiline.
Note: The change request document can be a Maintenance Change Request (MCR).
You can select a change request in the multiline, and use the “Assign Employees” page to assign the employees. You can also copy the employee details from a change request that is already defined, to the change request(s) selected in the multiline.
“Create Maintenance Change Request” activity of the “Maintenance Change Request” business component.
You can copy the employee assignment details from an existing change request to the current change request.
Enter the number of the change request, from which you wish to copy the assignment details, in the “Copy Assignment Details From” group box.
Enter the revision number of the change document of type "MCR".
Note: You can enter the revision number only for the change document of type "MCR".
Click the “Copy Assignments” pushbutton, to copy the assignment details.
