Assign Employees – A summary of the activity
In this activity, you can select the change request to assign employees for evaluating and authoring the change request. The change request document can be a Maintenance Change Request (MCR) or a Fleet Campaign Directive (FCD). The employee assignment to the change request depends on the option set in the "Set Options" activity. If you have set the "Assignments Mandatory" option as "Yes" in the "Set Options" activity, you must assign employees to the change request.
Maintenance Change Request (MCR) - Engineering changes on aircraft or its sub-systems are triggered from internal or external sources. The change information is communicated through a modification document (like SBs. Ads etc.,). The details of the modification document is recorded as MCR. Each MCR has a unique number assigned to it in the “Create Maintenance Change Request” activity of the “Maintenance Change Request” business component. Employees can be assigned to maintenance change requests that are in the “Confirmed” status, for further evaluation and authoring of engineering order.
Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD) - An FCD is generally used for inspection and emergency maintenance actions. Normally the FCD is taken up on priority and is a blanket communiqué to the field to either replace parts, or perform a particular service on a fleet. An engineering change communication such as a Service Bulletin (SB) or AD can translate into an FCD, to confirm or assess the circumstances mentioned in the change request. These FCDs are created in the “Create FCD” activity of “Engineering Document” business component. Employees can be assigned to FCDs that are in the “Released” status, for further evaluation and authoring of engineering document. FCD’s are documents that describe certain activities in order to collect information about conditions that may exist on a fleet in relation to the status of aircraft, component modification or configuration. Typically, the FCD is used to provide affected parties with information needed to determine component or aircraft effectivity in order to create future aircraft engineering documents, component engineering documents or special inspections. These directives can also be used for minor services that can be performed which do not involve any configuration changes or revision to existing job cards
