Modifying NAVAIDS details for station
This page allow you to enter the navigational aids (NAVAIDS) that are available with the station. Tell me more
Select the “Edit NAVAIDS” link in the “Edit Station” or “Create Station” page.
The “Edit NAVAIDS” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Station Details” group box:
Station # |
The station selected in the previous page. |
Station Name |
The name of the corresponding station. |
Enter the following fields in the “NAVAIDS Details” multiline:
NAVAIDS # |
The unique number that identifies the navigational aid available in the station (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. |
Note: You cannot modify the NAVAIDS number that already exists.
Type |
The textual description defining the type of the navigational aid (Alphanumeric, 20). The navaids are of the types VOR, VORTAC and TACAN. |
Class |
The class to which the navigational aid belongs (Alphanumeric, 20). Navaids are classed according to their operational use. The three classes are terminal, low altitude and high altitude. |
Operational Frequency |
Enter the radio frequency of the navigational airport (Alphanumeric, 20). |
TACAN Channel |
The TACAN channel for the navigational aid (Alphanumeric, 20). |
Voice (Y / N) |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the TACAN has a voice channel or not. It is an attribute of a TACAN channel. The system provides the option “Yes” and No”. |
Station Call Name |
The name of the calling station (Alphanumeric, 80) |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the navigational aid for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the NAVAIDS selected in the multiline.
Click the ‘Edit NAVAIDS” pushbutton to update the modifications.
Modifying NAVAIDS details for station – An overview
Navigational aids, commonly referred as NAVAIDS, are ground supporting equipment that help the aircraft during landing. It is a visual or electronic device airborne or on the surface which provides point-to-point guidance information or position data for aircraft in flight.
In this page, you can enter the navigational aids (NAVAIDS) that are available with the station selected in the previous page. NAVAIDS help in assisting the aircraft during take-off and landing. You can identify each NAVAIDS with a unique number. You can also enter NAVAIDS details, such as the type, class, updation frequency, TACAN channel, voice and station call name, in this page. The system updates the NAVAIDS details for the selected station.
