Maintaining aircraft mod number
Select the “Maintain Aircraft Mod #” activity under the “Common Masters” business component.
The “Maintain Aircraft Mod #” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following details in the “Mod # Details” multiline:
Mod # |
The unique number identifying the modification done with respect to the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Data entry in this field is mandatory if “Mod Description” is available. You can not modify the existing Mod number. |
Mod Description |
The textual description of the modification done (Alphanumeric, 150). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if a value is entered in the “Mod #” field. |
Mod Classification |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the classification of the aircraft mod. The system lists all the active quick codes of type “Mod Classification” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Mod Category |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the category under which the mod classification is done. The system lists all the active quick codes of type “Mod Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
ATA # |
The number identifying the ATA chapter (Alphanumeric, 16). Ensure that the number entered here is a valid ATA number as defined in the “Aircraft” business component. Help facility available. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the modification done with respect to the aircraft. The system provides the option “Active” and “Inactive”. The system displays the value “Active” by default. |
Remarks |
Any additional comments pertaining to modification (Alphanumeric, 150). |
The system displays the following fields:
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the record. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the record was last modified. |
Check the box in the multiline to mark a record for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the selected record.
Click the “Maintain Mod #” pushbutton to save the modification details associated to the aircraft.
Note: The system updates the login user ID as the Last Modified By and the current server date as the Last Modified Date.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Mod # |
A unique number identifying the modification done with respect to the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the aircrafts mapped to the Mod number entered here. |
Model # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the model number of the aircraft. The system retrieves all the ‘Active’ aircraft registration numbers as defined in the “Aircraft” business component, that belong to the model number specified here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box and select any one of the following options to specify the applicability of the Mod number on the aircraft:
The system retrieves all the aircrafts mapped to Mod numbers with applicability as specified here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Note: Leave all the above mentioned fields blank, to retrieve all the aircraft registration numbers irrespective of the search criteria.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve all the aircraft registration numbers for which the mapping or un-mapping of the Mod number has to be carried out.
Note: The system retrieves only those aircraft records that are in status other than “Inactive”, “Under Creation” and “Frozen”.

Default Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the default applicability of the Mod number on the aircraft. The system provides the option “Pre”, “Post” and “No Impact”. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Enter the following details in the “Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” multiline:
Aircraft Reg # |
The number identifying the aircraft for which Mod number mapping has to be carried out (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure that the number entered here is an ‘Active’ aircraft in status other than “Inactive”, “Under Creation” and “Frozen”. You cannot modify the existing aircraft registration number. Help facility available. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the Mod number on the aircraft. The system provides the option “Pre”, “Post” and “No Impact”. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Mod # |
The unique number identifying the modification done with respect to the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the number entered here is an ‘Active’ Mod number as defined in the “Mod # Details” multiline. Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the modification done to the aircraft is described in the “Mod Description” field in the “Mod # Details” multiline. You cannot modify the existing Mod number. |
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Note: Ensures that a value is selected in either the “Default Applicability” or the “Applicability” drop-down list box.
The system displays the following details:
Model # |
The model number of the aircraft. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the record. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the user last modified the record. |
Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark a record for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the selected record.
Click the “Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” pushbutton, to map or unmap the aircraft registration number to the Mod number.
Note: For the mod #(s) selected from the “Mod # Details” multiline and aircraft(s) selected from the “Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” multiline, the system maps each of the selected Mod # to all the selected aircrafts on clicking the “Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” pushbutton.
The system performs the following:
Throws an error message, if any other concurrent user tries to modify the “Aircraft Reg #” entered above.
Ensure that the record does not get duplicated in the “ Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” multiline. For Example, if an aircraft is already mapped to a Mod #, then the user should not try to map the same mod number to the same aircraft by a direct entry in the multiline.
If the “Applicability” drop-down list box is left blank for the Aircraft Reg # - Mod # combination in the “Map / Unmap Aircraft Mods” multiline, then the system considers the “Default Applicability” as the Applicability of the mod and updates the same in the “Aircraft” business component.
Updates the login user ID as the Last Modified By and the current server date as the Last Modified Date.
