Setting cycle count execution parameters
This page allows you to set the cycle count execution parameters for a warehouse. Tell me more
Select the “Set Cycle Count Parameters” link in the “Set Cycle Count Parameters for Warehouse” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked warehouse number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Set Cycle Count Parameters” page appears.
The system displays the following in the “Warehouse Details” group box:
Warehouse # |
The number identifying the warehouse selected in the previous page. |
Warehouse Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Warehouse Type |
The type of the warehouse, which could be either “Free” or “Normal”. |
The system displays the following in the “Execution Parameters” group box:
Class |
The class that belongs to the classification method selected in the "Set Cycle Count Options” activity. The system displays “A”, “B” and “C”, if the selected classification method is “ABC” and “V”, “E” and “D”, if the selected classification method is “VED”. |
Enter the following fields:
Initial Accuracy (%) |
The initial accuracy percentage for the item of the particular class (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure this value is between 1 and 100. |
Note: For the first cycle count, you need to specify the initial accuracy. For subsequent cycle counts, the system updates the current accuracy.
The system displays the following:
Current Accuracy (%) |
The current accuracy percentage for the item of the particular class. |
Enter the following:
Desired Accuracy (%) |
The desired accuracy percentage for the item of the particular class (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure this value is between 1 and 100. |
Count Interval (Days) |
The number of days after which the cycle count is repeated for the item of the class (Integer). Mandatory. The system calculates the count interval. This field can be modified. |
Click the “Compute Count Interval” pushbutton, to calculate the count interval.
Click the “Set Parameters” pushbutton, to store the cycle count parameters for the warehouse.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the cycle count parameters. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the cycle count parameters were last modified. |
Setting cycle count execution parameters – An overview
This page allows you to set the cycle count execution parameters for a warehouse. You can enter the current accuracy initialization, desired accuracy percentage and count intervals for the various classes in the selected classification method.
Current accuracy is the accuracy percentage of the last cycle count. Desired accuracy percentage is the accuracy percentage desired from the cycle count. For the first cycle count, you need to specify the initial accuracy and the desired accuracy percentage. After the first count, system automatically generates the current accuracy percentage based on the following formula:
Current Accuracy |
= |
Number of items with “No Adjustment” requirement |
/ |
Total number of items counted for that class of items |
You cannot modify the current accuracy percentage. However, you can change the desired accuracy level for the subsequent counts. Based on the desired accuracy percentage, the system calculates the count interval as follows:
Count Interval = [365 * (1.001 - (D / 100))] / [(D / 100) * (1.001-(C / 100))]Where D is the Desired accuracy percentage and C is the Current accuracy percentage. |
You can also modify the count interval.
