This page allows you to modify the depreciation rate details. For the selected asset class, you can modify the code identifying the depreciation rate and its description. You can also modify the depreciation rate defined and the effective date of the depreciation rate. The system automatically calculates the expiration date based on the effective date. The system saves the modified details and updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date. The system also displays the creation history of the depreciation rate details.
Select the “Edit Rate” link at the bottom of the “Edit Depreciation Rule” page.
The “Edit Depreciation Rate” page appears.
The system displays the following field:

The status of the depreciation rate. The various statuses of the depreciation rate are |

Modify the following fields in the group box if required:
Asset Class Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the asset class. The system loads all the asset class defined in the “Create Asset Class” activity of the “Asset Type Definition” business component, for selection. The system displays the first asset class by default on launch of the page. |
Depreciation Rate Id |
The unique ID for the depreciation rate (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. |
Help facility available. |

Rate Id Description |
The textual description pertaining to the depreciation rate ID (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the depreciation rate details.
Modify the following fields in the “Depreciation Rate Details” multiline if required:
Depreciation Rate |
The unique depreciation rate defined for the depreciation rate ID (Decimal). The rate must be greater than zero and less than 100. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the depreciation rate is effective for the period (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered here must be later than the date on which the Fixed Asset was installed. |
Note: The effective date in the succeeding row must be later than the date specified in the previous row. For example, if the effective date in the row 1 is March 1st 2002, then the effective date in the 2nd row must be later than the date specified.
Atleast one rate must be defined for the rate ID.
The system displays the following field:
Expiration Date |
The date till which the depreciation rate is effective. This field is calculated by the system. |
Expiration Date computation
If the effective date in Row 2 is greater than effective date in the Row 1, then the expiration date in Row 1 is (Effective date in Row 2 – 1).
If the effective date in Row 2 is equal to the effective date in the Row 1, then the expiration date Row 1 = expiration date in Row 1.
Modifying depreciation rate
Follow the below example in defining the depreciation rates

Click the “Edit Rate” pushbutton to modify the depreciation rate.
The system saves the modified details.
The system updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date. The system also displays the creation history.

The date on which the depreciation rate was created. |

The login ID of the user who last modified the depreciation rate. |

The date on which the depreciation rate was modified last. |
