Modifying analysis code details
This page allows you to search and select analysis codes for modifying its details. You can search by specifying a range of analysis codes that you want to retrieve and the date range during which they are effective. The system retrieves all the analysis codes that are in the “Active” status based on the search criteria entered. You can modify the details of the selected analysis codes. The system saves the modifications made to the details of the analysis codes. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the analysis code details.
Select the “Edit Analysis Code” link under the “Account Based Budget” business component.
The “Edit Analysis Code” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the analysis codes for which you want to modify the details:
Analysis Code From |
The starting code in the range of analysis codes that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 5). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the analysis codes that are similar to the value entered here. If this field is left blank and the “To” field is entered, the system retrieves the analysis code from the first record till the analysis code specified in the “To” field. |

The ending code in the range of analysis codes that you want to retrieve (Alphanumeric, 5). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the analysis codes that are similar to the value entered here. The number entered here must be after the code entered in the “Analysis Code From” field. If this field is left blank and the “Analysis Code From” field is entered, the system retrieves the analysis codes starting from the code specified in the “Analysis Code From” field till the last record |
Description |
The description of the analysis code (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using ‘*’ characters. The system retrieves all the analysis codes whose description is similar to the value entered here. |
Reporting Cost Center |
Indicates whether the analysis code must behave as a reporting cost center. If this field is left blank, the system creates only analysis code. |
Note: The value in “Reporting Cost Center” drop-down list box can be changed to “Yes” from “Blank” as set in the “Create Analysis Code” activity only if the analysis code has not been used in any other transaction.
The value in the “Reporting Cost Center” drop-down list box can be changed to “Blank” from “Yes” as set in the “Create Analysis Code” activity only if the analysis code has not been referred in transactions relating to “Cost Center Structure” and “Cost Allocation” activities.
Effective Date From |
The date from which the analysis code that you want to retrieve is effective (Date Format). This field must be before the date entered in the “Effective Date To” field. If this field is left blank and the “Effective Date To” field is entered, then the system retrieves all the analysis codes that are effective till the date specified in the “Effective Date To” field |
Effective Date To |
The date till which the analysis code that you want to retrieve is effective (Date Format). If this field is left blank and the “Effective Date From” field is entered, then the system retrieves all the analysis codes, which are effective from the date entered in the “Effective Date From” field. |
Click the "Search" pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Analysis Details” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Modify the following fields if required in the “Analysis Details” multiline:

The description of the analysis code (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Effective Date From |
The date from which the analysis code is effective (Date Format) |

The date till which the analysis code is effective (Date Format). |
Click the “Edit Analysis Code” pushbutton to save the modification made to the analysis code.
The system saves the modified details. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit SubAnalysis Code” link at the bottom of the page to modify the details of a sub-analysis code.
